Leela did her MSc in Leeds studying the molecular mechanism of fusidic acid resistance through NMR methods. Prior to that, she spent her BSc in the Philippines studying BPA-degrading enzymes from fungi and bioluminescent fungi. In the lab, she will be investigating a novel class of topoisomerase inhibitors through biochemical assays and cryo-EM. A lot of protein purification ahead!
